Here are my thoughts on whether to use 2k or 4k textures: It depends on how much you stare at it. The sorting and categorization probably won't be perfect, but it should be good enough to make the list more readable. In this list, I'll have it broken down into categories. To handle overwrites efficiently, I generally start with the mods that change a lot of textures, so that by the end, I'm installing things that only change 1-2 items at a time.
Since it's all textures, it won't be complicated to install. However, I am pretty pleased with the way my game looks, and thought I'd share. I'm not saying they're the absolute best, nor am I saying that they're the only options, nor am I saying that you ought to use them.

The Vivid Fallout-All in One adds more realistic, weathered textures to the overall environment, making the post-apocalyptic Boston wasteland feel even more rough-and-tumbled, but also gorgeous.
Hein84 even claims that their richer textures are less demanding on a graphics card than Fallout 4's vanilla texture. Now they've released a compilation of their texture mods available all in a single package, which you can install to add a more realistic, and deeper texture to your Fallout 4 game.
